Clap

What brought us to this stage,
Where we bathe in their applause?
Did we give what they expect,
us picturesque in all our flaws?

Don't Look Down

Right now,
Somewhere in the world,
Is a baby trying to stand up for the first time.
Right now,
Somewhere in the world,
Is a man trying to stand up for the second time.

Moon

Smile and nod,
Sigh with your lips,
Let the shiver of your voice
dictate the quiver of your hips.
Sigh with me,
I cry for more,
You act like you've never
heard a coyote bay before.

Reflection

I made a bet
with a man reflected in the water,
That I could make a gilded prince
out of a copper pauper,
Erase my fingerprints
with a modded helicopter,
To shock the socks of the coppers
and the modern doctors.

Plugs

The receiver does just that.
I can hear myself breath if I do so hard enough.
It's tough,
mustering up the courage to pick up the phone,
to muscle through the dial tone
and hope that when they pick up,
They happen to be home.
If I press the digits with mine
the man with all the cords and knobs
who plugs and prods
all day
can make it so you hear me whisper,
From miles and miles away.

Robot

Fresh out of the factory,
They had me on a recall,
They said I didn't function right
and profits were in free-fall.
I went against my programming,
I tore out my connections,
I threw out all the manuals
and lost all my direction.

Kitchen Counter

It's stranger than fiction,
The shame in addiction.
So I'm,
Arranging what's missin',
By name in the kitchen.
No time,
Prescription's afflictin',
My brain and my pistons,
So I,
Stick to the friction,
The same as my prediction.
